Roll’n Boogie Fashion Show & Skate Night

Mar 16, 2026

Last Tuesday saw the debut of Roll’n Boogie’s Fashion Show & Skate Night event.

Raz, who heads the organisation, set the intention to put on yet another unique skating event following the success of her first ever Urban Roller Skating Dance Competition. The idea was to provide a space that seamlessly held together a range of streetwear collections that are steadily emerging as the urban roller skating scene in London grows in popularity.

Roller skaters are among the most dynamic and creative individuals you may come across — they're full of innovative ideas and entrepreneurial spirit. Examples of this are regularly seen throughout the skate scene, skaters producing this and that — from artwork, custom-made clothing, printed T-shirts, music, poetry, photography, books and more. The space seems to attract many of the creative go-getter types.

And so this event finally came together to hold space for the community to come together and show off their new skate and streetwear offerings— under one creative roof. There were ten or more stalls set up along the length of the sports hall displaying all kinds of skate-related, urban and handmade clothing.

Vendors included:

✅ Skate Base Skatewear

✅ Roll’n Boogie

✅ Shaz

✅ Roller Remedy

✅ Afro London

✅ Roll'a Vibe

✅ Mariola

✅ iSkate

✅ OAP Grans of Westminster

The evening kicked off with a vibrant fashion parade showcasing a few of the creatives collections — including Raz’s own handmade afro-print denim fusion pieces [one of which she’d made especially for me to model]. The other roller skating models and I each took our turn to roll and swirl down the runway to show off the outfits— with a few skate moves and Charlie’s Angels poses thrown in for extra fun factor.

It was a real vibe.

It was great to see so many talented people finally get their moment under the spotlight. It’s no easy thing to design, produce and promote a new clothing line with minimal to zero financial backing, so this event was pivotal in supporting this kind of upcoming talent.

Skate Night

Directly after the fashion show [and several photography opportunities later] the audience chairs were reconfigured to allow ample space for the skaters and performers to come together and do their thing. Carms fm DJ Dr Jerkyl was already in place to set things off musically, and the skaters were ready to catch a flow.

Together we skated while the line dancers took to the middle of the floor to enjoy a string of linedance sequences [led by whoever was willing]. We only paused mid way through to celebrate a birthday with a bit of sparkle, singing and cake — enough for everyone to chomp their way through twice.

The whole event ran from 7pm–11pm, so we had plenty of time to do our skate thing.

Hopefully this is something we’ll see more of down the line. It’s such a fresh idea that offers key community members the support they deserve — I’ve actually never seen a fashion show performed on roller skates for the skate community in this way— and it was put together with such good intentions. Hopefully, the event will go some way towards encouraging yet more creativity and innovation of this nature.  We can never grow tired of this community initiatives like this one.

Well done to Raz and her zesty, determined nature.
